A beloved biannual gaming event, Lanwar, returned to the campus this past MLK weekend, running from January 16 to 19. This four-day extravaganza has become a staple at the University of Louisville, attracting gaming enthusiasts of all ages since its inception in 1998. Over the years, Lanwar has hosted more than 70 events, consistently drawing hundreds of participants eager to showcase their skills and compete in various gaming tournaments.
This year's event saw nearly 300 attendees, each paying a $60 entry fee, who brought their consoles to join in the fun. The atmosphere was electric as gamers engaged in friendly competition across multiple platforms, including popular titles and classic favorites. In addition to the competitive gaming, Lanwar offered opportunities for socializing and connecting with fellow gamers, fostering a sense of community among participants.
As Lanwar continues to grow in popularity, it remains a cherished tradition on campus, celebrating the ever-evolving world of gaming and the camaraderie it brings.
