Marc Saltzman never set out to become a voice for tech and video game reviews. In fact, he didn't plan on it at all. But a deep, personal love for gaming quietly guided him into a career he now calls his dream job.
Growing up, Saltzman was the kind of kid who would lose himself in a game for hours. He wasn't just playing. He was studying the design, the story, and the mechanics. That curiosity never faded. When he got older, he started writing about games on the side, mostly for fun. He sent a few pieces to local newspapers and magazines, not expecting much. To his surprise, editors liked his fresh, honest take.
What started as a hobby slowly turned into a full-time gig. Saltzman now writes reviews, hosts a radio show, and speaks at events about the intersection of technology and entertainment. He says the key was never chasing money or fame. It was following what genuinely excited him.
He admits the industry can be tough. Deadlines are tight, and the market is crowded. But when he sits down to play a new game or test a gadget, it still feels like that same kid in his bedroom, just having fun. For Saltzman, that feeling is the real reward. He believes if you find something you love and stick with it, the rest tends to work itself out.
