Travelers passing through Pittsburgh International Airport now have a new way to kill time before boarding. A dedicated video game lounge, named Gameway, has opened its doors on Concourse A, offering a hands-on escape from the usual airport routine of scrolling phones and overpriced snacks.
Jordan Walbridge, the person behind the project, said the goal was simple: give passengers something engaging to do during delays or layovers. The space is stocked with a variety of family-friendly games, designed to appeal to everyone from young kids to adults who grew up with a controller in hand. Instead of a quiet waiting area, the lounge buzzes with the sounds of racing, puzzle-solving, and cooperative play.
What makes this spot stand out is its accessibility. There is no complicated membership or reservation system. Travelers can simply walk in, pick a station, and start playing. The setup includes comfortable seating and large screens, making it easy to play solo or with a group. Walbridge noted that the selection of games was chosen carefully to avoid anything too niche or violent, keeping the vibe light and inclusive for all ages.
For frequent flyers who have seen it all, this adds a fresh twist to the terminal experience. It also gives families a chance to burn off some energy before a long flight. The airport hopes the lounge becomes a regular stop for passengers, turning what is often dead time into a few minutes of genuine fun. Whether you have ten minutes or an hour, Gameway offers a reason to look forward to the wait.
