Amazon to add video games into Prime Video membership

Amazon has announced that Prime members in the United States and the United Kingdom can now access video games through their existing Prime Video subscription. The move adds a new layer to the membership, allowing users with a Fire TV device to play games via Amazon's cloud gaming service, Luna.

The integration means subscribers do not need a separate Luna subscription to start playing. Instead, select games will be available directly within the Prime Video app, similar to how users browse and watch movies or shows. Amazon is positioning this as a way to test the waters for gaming without an upfront cost, offering a rotating selection of titles.

While the initial launch is limited to Fire TV hardware, the company has hinted at expanding to other devices in the future. The decision reflects a broader industry trend where streaming platforms bundle interactive content alongside traditional video. For now, the service targets casual gamers who already own a Fire TV and want to try cloud gaming without additional hardware or monthly fees.
